Nothing expensive or fancy, but each make me feel happy!

These are ALL currently by the front door...
I want Spring and these remind me of Sunny, not Snowy days!

Window {Before} and {After}

I found this amazing window frame at a little antique shop out in Palouse, WA.

20 panes and they all had glass.

.

It was $15, so naturally I had to have it.

I've been meaning to add pictures to it for umm... 11 months now.
I did it, finally!
I truly think these are the most beautiful little girls ever.
If someone would have shown me these pictures before I had Taya,
I would have never thought these would me MY children.

DSC02613

Taya's pictures are Black & White, Paige's are Color
They're kind of hard to tell apart!

It goes perfectly in there room.

Getting Brave

Paige is moving!
She crawls, stands, walks with assistance and is getting braver by the day.
This morning she wanted to do some cooking, but sadly she's too short

She quickly found something to help with her height deficiency
{FYI rocking chairs are not very stable}

Then she decided she still was not high enough...

Just a little bit higher... higher... higher...

Whoops!

Good save Paige-e Girl!

Poor Thrift Store -Before- and -After-

The girls and I went through the Thrift Stores
I was trying to find a shirt that would fit Paige in good condition, but no such luck.
However, I did come home with this sad little thing.

A few coats of white paint and some vinyl from Michael's; you get this!

DSC02602

 I think it's adorable.
Currently it's sitting on my table as a center piece with the pitchers inside.
I'm sure I'll find a permanent home that will help with my organizing endeavor
DSC02603

P.S.  the vinyl comes in rolls at Michael's in there "bargain" section, for $3 a roll.

knock-off letters

I've been admiring {from afar} these, mesh letters over at Restoration Hardware

Scallop Mesh Letters

However, $16 per letter is more than I would ever dream of paying.

I was in Michael's the other day and found these.

DSC02578

These might work, right?
Instead of mesh, I use burlap.  I traced the letter and cut it out.

DSC02579

DSC02580

Glued the burlap on.

DSC02582

Gave a couple light coats of white paint all over.
{will need a "hair" cut afterwards, gets a little frayed}

DSC02583

Then mixed brown acrylic paint to glaze. And wiped it on, then right off.

DSC02589

I really like the way they turned out.
They found a home in our Bathroom for the girls towels.

{Letter's $1 each}
{Burlap $0.40 for 1/8 yard}
{Project TOTAL $2.40... Sure beats $32!}

I DID IT!

I finally created a Board that Tanner actually likes
My rustic, vintage, distressed, wornout look is not what he likse.
 Tanner likes things that look nice, clean and new, not old and weathered.
However, I was working on a bunch of numbers yesterday for my Etsy shop, when I finished this one, he grabbed it and said, "I really do like this one."
Haha, I L-O-V-E that boy!
I'm happy that he supports me in all my crafting efforts!

These are a couple of my newest favorites.

Here comes Monday

This morning Taya had a dentist appointment
We went in last week for ex-rays and a cleaning.  They found 1 cavity!
We got ready and went in early.

Paige LOVES the toys.

DSC02527

Taya LOVES the books.

DSC02531

They are really fun at this office.  They put sunglasses on the kiddos and have TVs on the ceilings.
Taya was in Heaven watch Yo Gabba Gabba and smelling the Strawberry air {laughing gas.}

DSC02532

She didn't make a peep... She seriously was AMAZING!
Her reward?... A rubber lizard
 Haha, she's quite random!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Paige is into EVERYTHING right now!
Her favorite spots right now are the rag drawers and the basket that holds all the diapers and wipes.
{little effort, creates big messes}
But, I have to admit she is very cute when she's curious!

The Girl's Room

Here are just a few extra pictures I took of the girls room.

DSC01451

My mom bought me this mosquito net back in collage.
I added a veil {thrift store purchase} to give it a bit more fullness.
The top is just a wreath from the "Spring" collection at Michael's and a few flowers pushed in.

DSC01472

I LOVE how their names turned out...
The letters {porcelain} I bought at Farm Chicks last June.
I put batting and burlap around the original picture and glued on the letters.
This adorable frames I found as is at the Hangar.

Sew Crafty

In my teenage years I learned many useful skills from my Young Women's Leaders at church.  They taught me how to make fruit jam, sew a quilt, provide service at the local assisted living home and much much more.
This summer I had the opportunity to visit Nauvoo Illinois with my mom, grandma and my Young Women's Leader (now my mom's Relief Society President.)
One evening we went looking in a cute fabric shop.
Of course I didn't buy anything...
However, Lana, my Young Women's Leader, took me in found some fabric I liked and bought me a WHOLE STACK OF FAT QUARTERS!
Shortly after summer I made this banner for the girls bedroom window.

DSC01938

I still had a ton a fabric left over.
While at Kate's house I saw her very cute baby quilt she has made for one of her girls.
After a tutorial, I decided to make one for each of my girls.
I cut a TON of squares.

DSC02097

Sewed my front then quilted the entire thing.
DSC02083

I also added a small inscription on the back of each quilt.
They will always have it noted when they were each given these sweet blankies.

DSC02486

Here is the Finished Product.
Paige's has the blue fabrics.

DSC02481

Taya's has green fabrics.

DSC02482

Thanks Lana for all the fabric.  My girls received some great Keepsakes!
