Framing it Up

It's official... Tanner received his diploma in the mail.
Naturally we had to frame it.
We wanted something that went well with the colors on the piece.

We found this frame.

Great deep brown with gold tones in it.  Just needed a bit more gold.

A little taping and painting...

Then I added a black mat.
Yay for Tanner!

Make over Kitchen Cart

This was one of my fabulous finds at Farm Chicks.
It is really good condition.  I want to use it as a side table for our master.

I used the $0.50 spray paint for a primer.

Then finished off with Ocean Breeze Blue.

I love it!

Night Stand

I know not the best picture, but check out my night stands...
Simple, board on 2 metal brackets.

I want something different...
I found this cute little stand at the thrift store the other day.
It really reminded me of Restoration Hardware.
{one of my favorite stores}
It was $4 so I took it home.  However, It looked way to small next to my gigantic bed.
Yesterday the girls and I went looking around town.
After checking out the thrift stores with no luck we headed to
Moscow Main Street Antique Mall.
Right away I found this awesome metal suitcase.
The colors were perfect and it was $10.
The books were FREE! Yep, the recycling center's book bin.

Now I'm on the look out for one on Tanner's side of the bed.

{P.S. there was a booth at the Antique Mall that Had a bunch of cute Metal File Holders.
There was a really cool large gray truck with drawers}
I wanted them all!

Window {Before} and {After}

I found this amazing window frame at a little antique shop out in Palouse, WA.

20 panes and they all had glass.

.

It was $15, so naturally I had to have it.

I've been meaning to add pictures to it for umm... 11 months now.
I did it, finally!
I truly think these are the most beautiful little girls ever.
If someone would have shown me these pictures before I had Taya,
I would have never thought these would me MY children.

Taya's pictures are Black & White, Paige's are Color
They're kind of hard to tell apart!

It goes perfectly in there room.

Poor Thrift Store -Before- and -After-

The girls and I went through the Thrift Stores
I was trying to find a shirt that would fit Paige in good condition, but no such luck.
However, I did come home with this sad little thing.

A few coats of white paint and some vinyl from Michael's; you get this!

 I think it's adorable.
Currently it's sitting on my table as a center piece with the pitchers inside.
I'm sure I'll find a permanent home that will help with my organizing endeavor

P.S.  the vinyl comes in rolls at Michael's in there "bargain" section, for $3 a roll.

Organizing/ Cleaning Continues

I've taking a lot of ideas for this 21 day mission from A Bowl Full of Lemons
However, some of her items don't apply to me. For example, laundry room, sadly I don't have one
On those times I switch it out for something I have and know I need to organize.

Tuesday- Clean out Vanity Drawers
This is something I've been meaning to do for a very, very long time. Just haven't seemed to get around to it.  I L-O-V-E this cute little vanity.  However, not so much the colors and pulls.  Someday, maybe this summer, I hope to paint and re-do it.  But for now a good scrub down and reorganizing will do.
It was pretty bad before.  When I clean our bed room, I typically just walk past this poor thing.

I found these white containers at the local Thrift store.
Can you believe the 3 little ones are Crate & Barrel?! Only 71cents each.

DSC02332

This way cute vinyl shelf liner is from Michael's Craft.
It was in there bargain section.  $2 a roll.
One roll was more than enough to do these 4 drawers.

After is much better.
I didn't worry to much about placing every little thing in a specific place, because lets face it, it won't stay that way.  I have to make it functional

Vanity Drawers

Vanity

Doesn't that paper make the drawers look much better!

Wednesday- Computer Desk

The computer Desk was relatively simple.
It was our old dinning table turned, vinyl work station.
I primarily use it to hold my vinyl cutter and a few office supplies I use on a regular basis.
It was pretty cluttered and needed to be cleaned.

DSC02316

I polished it and rearranged a couple of things.  However, I'm NOT loving this arrangement.
I'm very, very open to any and all suggestions.
I need the vinyl cutter to stay on top, Paige can't get to it up here.
I also love to keep my Laptop here, but everything else is negotiable.
{please leave a comment with suggestions}
