HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Halloween this year falls on a Sunday...
So we celebrated early.  On Friday the girls got all dressed up and went Trick-or-Treating to each of the businesses on Main Street.  Then we went to the mall for even more candy. It was fun, we put the girls in the double stroller and walked from store front to store front.  Taya would say "Trick or treat," everyone oowed and awed over how cute our Dorthy and Cowardly Lion were.
We left with a VERY VERY full basket of candy.

How Cute are these girls.
I seriously could not stop kissing them.
Look at Paigie's perfect chubby cheeks!

Saturday night we had a ward primary party here at the apartment community center.
Then they had trick-or-treating through the complex.
(Abby was so sad she got left home with me to hand out candy.)
And YES that means Taya got to go Trick-or-Treating a total of 3 times!
And here is our sweet little Dorthy with her beloved Toto!

Taya got a

SURPRISE
Grandma Seasa and Papa came to visit us this summer here in Moscow.
They took Taya to the Movie Theatre to watch How to Tame Your Dragon.

Taya and Grandma at the Movies

Taya loved the movie and has been talking about it ever since. It just came out on DVD and Taya received a Surprise Package in the mail.  As soon as she woke up from her nap I told her she had a surprise...
Her eyes got big as she yelled, "A prize from Grandma Seasa and Papa?!"

.

She opened it to find the movie she absolutely loves right now.

.

And an added bonus, a new "I SPY" Book, which she adores.

.

Thanks Papa and Grandma Seasa!  XOXO Taya

APPLESAUCE

Paige has now mastered eating solid foods this month, well sort of.  My neighbor taught me how to can homemade apple sauce and Paige LOVES it.

It's amazing how much work you have to put in for such a little reward.
I used 12lbs of apples and got 9small jars of sauce.  Oh well now I've tried canning.
  (I'll admit I don't think it's for me!)

Pumpkin Carving

CONTEST
We had family night tonight, Tuesday instead of the usual Monday. (thanks Monday Night Football!)
Taya picked out dinner, homemade macaroni and cheese, which she didn't even eat one bite of.
Then we carved our pumpkins...

.

Doesn't Taya look like she has something mischievous planned?!

.

Paige did not like her photo op.  Do you think she's teething or my kids are just droolers?

And here they are!

.

Tanner's is the top one, FREE Handed it baby!
I of course used a template and Taya added a lot of help on this poor little bat.

All in all we had a fun family night and now Taya knows what's on the inside of a pumpkin!

BLAST FROM THE PAST

I was looking through some of our old photos and found these.  They made me smile!
This was the biggest day of Tanner's Undergrad life.

BEFORE AND AFTER

One of my main thrills in life is to look at before and afters... They can be of just about anything and I will stare forever.  I especially love beauty makeovers, yard makeovers, home decor redo's and whole room makeovers.
I'm always shopping for something that is currently "less than desirable," and turning it into something fabulous.  Here is one of my projects.
I found this old window frame and all I could think was, "What a cute jewelry holder!"

.

What you Need to make this:
1.  A frame, can be a picture frame, but a window works better because of the flat surfaces to attach the hooks to.
2.  Chicken wire.  I went for one that was in small squares.  You can find it with even smaller squares or the large hexagon form.
3. Paint, I prefer spray paint.
4.  Wire cutters
5. Coat Hooks

.

Cut your Chicken Wire to fit in the back slot of the frame.
Paint your frame and wire.  I liked the color of the frame so I left it, but I went for a much lighter shade on the wire, I wanted to break it up.
Place wire into frame.  You can use a utility stapler, small upholstery tacks, or Hot Glue!
Put your hooks on.

SPARKLES

A few days ago I did Kate's nails... We finish around 10:30pm and of course I did not feel like cleaning up right then, I decided I would go to bed and clean up first thing in the morning.  BIG MISTAKE.  Taya has been waking up at 3am or 4 am and wondering the house.  If not then she will also wake up around 6:30am and just head straight down stairs.  As you have guessed, I woke up the next morning to Tanner loudly saying, "Taya Michelle!".  I knew automatically what had happened and went racing down stairs.  It could have been really bad if she would have gotten into my Acrylic product.  However, she just decided to add some glam and sparkle to her life.  She emptied 4 containers of glitter.  Luckily I have a fabulous vacuum that quickly took care of the problem.

We talked about only doing our nails when Mommy can help.  But I couldn't get too upset, it was my fault for leaving such an irresistible temptation out.  I have to continuously remind myself she is only 2.

Welcome

I'm excited to finally start my family blog. For you that know me, I've been really bad about this in the past. However, I'm now a stay-at-home mom and ready to begin my own blogging world. Here is my Family
