Cleaning Tips

Just a couple random tips from me to you:

1- use this carpet cleaner!
It was rated #1 by consumer reports and I love it!  It does an amazing job

{Bissell Oxy Pro}
Bissell 13A2 14oz Oxy Pro Cleaner

2- Steel wool
Ever have "brownness" on your glass cookware after baking dinner?
Use steel wool... Takes it right off and doesn't hurt your bake ware.

3- Comet
I love trying new cleaning products, but...
I haven't found a product I like better for my shower than good old fashion Comet.
{I'm sure it's not the "healthiest" choice, but it works the best.}

Comet 14 oz Powder Cleanser with Chlorinol for Bleaching
Amazing on toilet bowls too!

4- Microfiber cloths
I love to do my dusting with Microfiber cloths.  They keep all the nasty dirt stuck tight to them.
You can then through them in the wash and their good as new.
{Don't add fabric softener or Dryer sheets}
I use them for windows as well, but the do leave streaks.
Follow with old newspapers and Windex.

{Costco sells these in bulk and I think for around $12 a box}

5- Bissell QickSteamer

I bought this on Craigslist a year ago and LOVE it.
It's not huge and doesn't have a lot of parts.
Meaning easy to use and easy to clean.
 Anytime we have a spill on carpets I just bust this little guy out and it does an amazing job.
{P.S. It doesn't really steam}

6- Cucumbers

Place cucumber peels where ever you have unwanted ants, and they won't come back.
Much safer than sprays or little poison houses.

Getting Ready

I'll admit, I don't put a TON of effort into my children's 1st B-days...
The day is more for us as parents than the little 1-year-old.
{They don't really get that the party is for them}

I did do a few things special for Paige's big day, but it was pretty low key.
I made a small paper banner to top her cupcakes.

{cut little triangles}
{sew together}

{tie ends to chopsticks or kabobs}

I made her a birthday hat
{use template found here, I made it a little bigger}
{Embellish}

{Add ribbons for the chin strap}

{Cute name plate}

{Made a Pom-Pom out of tulle}

And a number "1" shirt
{remember Paige got this shirt from my roommate}

The cupcakes were just Costco, but they came with little rings on top, which were the party favors.

We invited all our family in Idaho Falls to come to her party at Leo's Place.
The kids all had a blast running through the play area.
It was a great way to have a party.

{I didn't have to do the clean up!}

Overly Excited

Ever have those moments where your so excited you sometimes let out little squeaks?
That was me this evening...
My dear friend Kate, over at Kate Jennings Photography did a cute little family photo session with us.  The original point of this shoot was for a couple cute pics of Tanner,
since he will be graduating next month!
However, I decided what a great time to take family pictures as well.
After the semi chilly photo shoot, I was overly excited.
I thinks it was the realization that I have everything I've ever wanted....

My handsome husband, who loves me, & my 2 beautiful little babies.
I was the little girl who would force my cousin {Ryan} to "marry" me at least once a week.
I was always the little "mommy."  I couldn't wait to have babies.

I have an amazing amount of blessing to be grateful for right now, and I'm just that, Grateful!

I'll post some pictures soon!

Oh So Good

Sunday was pure bliss...
It was the 2nd day of General Conference and so nice to sit in my P.J's and listen to the leaders of our church.

This is what we ate during Sunday morning's 1st session.

My Mom's Apple Bendovers
{cause after you eat 2 you can't bend over}
1 Granny Smith Apple
1 Can Crescent Rolls
1 Stick of Butter
1/2 Cup of Granulated Sugar
1/4 Cup Mt. Dew

Peel and cut apple into 8ths.  Wrap apple slice in crescent.  Place in 9"x13" baking pan.  Now melt your butter {in the microwave} and stir in sugar.
Place a large amount of mixture on top of each wrap.  Using up all the mixture.
Now wet the surrounding area with Mt. Dew.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Should be bubbling and look nice and caramelized!
Serve with Vanilla Ice Cream!
